It feels just like my visit to Gettysburgh last summer...the invasion of the north happening right before my eyes.

You are thinking too small on this. UConn is clearly in the drivers seat in expansion based on recent history! Why commit all of our programs to the SEC? Here is a better plan:

Hockey joins Hockey East Done!
Football joins the SEC
Basketball joins the ACC
Baseball joins SEC
Soccer joins the ACC
Field Hockey joins the B1G
Swimming joins the B1G
Wrestling joins the B1G
Lacrosse joins the ACC
Gymnastics joins the SEC
Volleyball joins the PAC10
Tennis joins the SEC
Track&Field joins the SEC
Water Polo joins the PAC10
Horse Polo goes Independent...we are the Notre Dame of polo
And academics join the Ivy League!

Does anyone know when Rutgers Al moved to Connecticut and changed his name?

Hey, RutgersAl had the last laugh. He is cheering for a B1G team these days, I hope he is over here on our side :)

Can we get Oregon's or Arizona States' cheerleaders on loan?

It was hard not to have a soft spot for RutgersAl. It wasn't like he came over here and spewed trash. He came over, told us why we were overmatched and Rutgers was way better than their record. We would win. He'd take a beating, keep loving his Rutgers team, and come back before the next game.

It was cute, in its own way.

I suppose this means when Bama wins championships, Connecticut residents will do the SEC! SEC! chant...

:We're in need of an upgrade to our "Spirit Squad" before we get a formal offer. The SEC takes theirs pretty seriously! Any suggestions?

So you guys think the unveiling of the new mascot logo and this SEC thing is really just a coincidence?

Because I don't.

That's right you have to get meaner before you join the sec, and or new logo is definitely meaner. Were in.

Auburn and Alabama just have letters for logos.
Even though they are just letters elephants and tigers are still pretty mean, winning a couple of recent national titles doesn't hurt either.

The schools really in trouble are South Carolina and Tennessee. I believe a gamecock is a bird that is hunted? And someone that volunteers their time to help others doesn't sound so mean to me.

At this point its inevitable that we get an SEC invite. Geographically it's a perfect fit...our football team is DEFINITELY just as good as any in the SEC and their basketball teams -- Kentucky notwithstanding -- are almost on our level so we won't have a drop-off in competition.

I've always know it would work out this way which is why I never panicked when we missed out on the ACC over and over again. Herbst is playing the long con...and very well.

From MR. SEC:
"Conspiracy theorists might take note of the SEC's burgeoning presence in the Tar Heel State and wonder about the league's long-term plans. Good thing we're not conspiracy theorists."

"The SEC Network will be based there."

We're going to the B1G. Cool.
