Ossining beat Horace Greeley this afternoon (Tues. 2/21) 82 – 47 to win their quarterfinal section 1 match up in the class AA division. Their section 1 semifinal game will be played at the Westchester County Center on Thursday, March 1st.

Saniya had 22 pts., 15 assists, several steals & rebounds (haven’t found a box score yet). She looked quite comfortable dishing to her teammates for easy scores. She has excellent court vision with her head always up, looking for scoring opportunities.

Here is a LINK to a blog article about the game. You might need to scroll down a bit if they've added more articles to the blog.

    Thanks for the information.

The number of assists is way more impressive to me. Maybe she can pass into the post??:p

While the talk about comparisons to former players has rightfully so been towards Hartley I find based only on watching video of her games and looking at her assists that she reminds me (personality aside) of Taurasi. In addition to scoring which she seems proficient at, she seems more of a points producer than a scorer. She is the first player to make think of a Diana like impact on the game.

If you look at Saniya’s updated stats at the MaxxPreps High School Girls web site (LINK) you can see she is a stat stuffer. She definitely causes mayhem on both sides of the court and can take over a game in all kinds of ways……….yes……….kind of like D used to do.

This afternoon (2/21), her passing ability was front and center! 15 dimes.

Do you know when their next game is?

Edit: sorry....didn't read your post carefully.

Really appreciate these Saniya updates....keep 'em coming.

Click on this LINK for an article, pictures and some quotes from Ossining's game with Horace Greeley yesterday (Tues. 2/21).

One of her teammates spoke about Saniya's excellent passing.

"The Pride improved to 20-0 and faces No. 4 John Jay-East Fishkill in the semifinals, which will be held at the County Center on Thursday, March 1, at 4:45 p.m."

There is quite a lull between our ND game on Monday and our first Big East tourney game...Sunday.
Wonder if Himself might take in Saniya's game on Thursday?

I don't think in person contact is permissible with the player or her family until July after her junior year....unless they come to campus.

Time: as our Saniya one seed...a question for you:

If Ossining advances on March 1, do you know the date and time and location of the next game?
If so....it would be great if you would post it here.

I'm guessing Saturday March 3 at the County Center.
If you plan to go to the March 1 game, please post your wisdom here afterwards.
