Someone on the RU board said your team has lost only 2 home games in the last 9 years.

True / False? Referring to Storrs or anywhere?

I'm just curious - if it is so in any fashion, that is just beyond belief.

I don't think that's right. There were losses to St. John's and ND at home just in the last few years, never mind the last nine.

Since the 2006-2007 season, UConn is 85-2 at Gampel...but UConn plays "home" game in 2 other locations... ;)

FWIW , I would take DavidinNaples data as factual and accurate.............The man has fantastic stats and data and is as factual as it gets. If he says it 85-2....Its 85-2.

It's not right. You can't just ignore games played at Hartford considering that's where half our home games are played. Another recent home loss was to Baylor, and if we pull up the old schedules we'll find more home losses. We lost to ND twice at home just in 2013 alone.

Did you read what I wrote..? Go back, read it again. It is 100% accurate. I gave Gampel's record and referenced "other home games"..... The original post was about the RU board saying we had 2 home losses, as in Gampel... Get off the couch and do a little research yourself...

Good job David. There are a few people on here who seem to have trouble reading. Not sure if it's just poor reading comprehension in general or if they are just so interested in shooting someone down (I know, I know), they only read like half a sentence or something. I don't get it????

It's in the first line: "your team has lost only 2 home games in the last 9 years, true / false?" The correct answer is false. You don't need to read beyond that to correctly answer the question.

Did I miss something?? I don't recall seeing David claiming it was true. He merely stated the record at Gampel. But I guess David deserves a couple lashes with a wet noodle for forgetting that another home site was added to the list when UCONN played at Mohegan Sun in December.;) I love reading his posts because he always provides all that great data in a manner that's not dry.

This is exactly what David said...

He didn't answer "true/false", just listed the record at Gampel. To answer the OP's question, you'd need to calculate in the record at the XL center. Not taking sides or anything, but one person is correct - UCONN has more than 2 "home" losses in the last umpteen years, but in fairness David only mentioned Gampel and even noted there are other home locations. :)

Still more than respectable. I'm sure the RU fan heard the announcers (or read) that UConn had only 2 losses at Gampel and misinterpreted that as UConn's only home. There are lots of posters on the RU board that are not fans of the wider women's game, and fairly ignorant there-of, one doesn't appear to understand the history of 1st and 2nd round hosting, another thinks it is only the teams they announced a month ago that were hosts.

I had noted in the OP the question was it Gampel or everywhere, because I suspected it was just Gampel, but I never heard or read the original source the RU poster was referencing.

Thanks for the info, as I say, perfectly respectable, heck, I think your over-all record over the last 9 years is unbelievable.

You think that record is unbelievable? Try this one: since 1992, UConn has not lost back-to-back games anywhere, home or away, even wrapping around the end of one season into the next.
Sorry, Wonk. I don't believe it. That streak dates from March 1993, so it's "only" 22 years. :)

Well I guess that answers that. You're one of those who doesn't read the whole post. There's your problem.

Or ... Uconn's total record since the 2008 season is: 256 -12

Of those 12 losses -
2014-5 - road at Stanford
2013-4 - none
2012-3 - home ND (G), home Baylor (H), road ND, 'neutral' ND (H) (BE tournament)
2011-2 - road Baylor, road ND, home (G) St. Johns, home (H) ND, neutral ND FF
2010-1 - road Stanford, neutral ND FF
2009-10 - none
2008-9 - none

Their record for NCAA tournament over that time is 34-2

The losses break down as:
Five home losses (4 regular season and 1 BE tournament) with 2 at Gampel and 3 at Hartford
Two neutral site losses (FF)
Five road losses

Wow! I wouldn't want to play scrabble with you guys. The games would last over two days while you argued over whether "faqirs" is a legal word or not.:)

Have you ever played Scrabble? Doesn't seem you have much understanding of how the game is actually played.

I gave it a 50% shot. A balky computer and late hour for posting made it too much trouble to check.
One thing I have learned is that if you really want to know a stat, just throw a wrong one out there and someone on The Boneyard will correct you. Here is my favorite stat: UCONN has only allowed one team in the last 400 or so games shoot 50% from the floor in one game. If that isn't defensive domination I don't know what is. :D

I'm not sure if the stat is "50%" or "above 50%," but I think it's correct. A couple of other teams were within a basket or so. I think that BC shot over 50% in the 2004 BE semifinals, knocking Diana and the Huskies out. Since then, Baylor MAY have shot 50%.

Meanwhile, UConn shoots better than 50% over 20x per year.

Faquirs is in the Scrabble Dictonary and that is the Bible to play scrabble.
