I think this was UConn's toughest game in this Tournament. That was the one game this tournament where in the last 5 minutes I thought that UConn's chances of winning were less than 50/50. Galloway, Roberts and Panacevic were nails.

Survive and advance.

St. Joe's, proud winner of this year's UConn award, named after the team that invariably gives the eventual champion it's most difficult game. See UCLA '95, Maryland '02

If St. Joe's had any kind of quality big man on the bench, UConn goes down in this game. There is always that game in every Championship run where the Champs get an A+ effort from a good team, and have to gut it out.

You can also give Louisville this year's other UConn award, for the team that dominates the eventual champ in the regular season, but never gets the opportunity to face them in the Tourament (Syracuse '03).

I think that means I have to stop saying every time they mention 2003 that we owned them. Just doesn't matter one bit. All that matters is who cuts down the nets.

The only clip I could find on YouTube doesn't have sound, but you get the idea.

I watched most of that game. I thought Coach Phil schemed UConn the best of anybody. Kind of made KO look green almost

Martelli was a master that night. After St. Joe's, Michigan State at 12:38 left in the second half was the latest any team had a lead against UConn.
