OT-ish: Players travel expenses

In watching the UMass game today, the color guy said something I did not know. A lot of teams are playing away/neutral site games right before the holidays so the schools can help pay their players' expenses to travel home. The school cannot pay anything if a player is leaving to go home from campus but with, say, UConn playing in Washington tomorrow, the school can help foot the bill for the players heading to their families from Seattle after the game.
