yea Dawson is done, never really liked his style much, if his soul wasn't snatched by Ward it definitely was tonight. great night of boxing, highlight ko of dawson, and lara/angulo and lopez/maindana were great fights.

This was his best fight.

Instead of 45 minutes of wondering why he was just standing there, it was 89 seconds of wondering why he was just standing there and then one second of wondering what movie was coming up next on HBO.

The guy's style is extremely boring. He has gone through trainers like water. Usually blaming them for his weakness'.
Plus, after his biggest win, he's stupid enough to go down in weight, rather than make the other guy come up to his weight classification..
Then, he's dumb enough to fight in the guy's back yard. Of course he gets destroyed.

Plus, after his biggest win, he's stupid enough to go down in weight, rather than make the other guy come up to his weight classification..
Then, he's dumb enough to fight in the guy's back yard. Of course he gets destroyed.

Dawson had no cards to do what you wanted him to do. Ward is the bigger draw, the better boxer, and one of the best pound for pound boxers in the world. He is undefeated and Dawson took a chance to make himself a household name and possibly catapult him to a huge payday by beating Ward.

The only way Dawson could fight Ward was to drop in weight. Ward was in no way shape or form going to sacrifice his undefeated/unblemished career by going up in weight and being at a disadvantage fighting Dawson vs Dawson dropping weight.

Dawson's gamble didnt pay off and the drop in weight sapped his power and his legs were weak. It was was it was and Dawson never had a chance. The only way Dawson gets to fight Ward is dropping weight and fighting in his hometown, thats how boxing works. Dawson is not a household name and not a big draw becuase he is a technical boxer and looks to win rounds whether than being a flashy boxer who throws a ton of punches and fights an uptempo style. He doesnt knock people out and wins by just being a pure boxer.

His confidence is obviously shattered and it could be the end what has been a very successful career that has not reached a level many thought he could get to. Maybe he reevaluates things and gets back to being Bad Chad again but only time will tell

I always saw Dawson as a C+ fighter at best. Talent was there but something missing.
