The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have signed wide receiver Nick Williams. Williams, 5-10, 184 pounds, was originally signed by the Washington Redskins as college free agent out of the University of Connecticut following the 2013 NFL Draft. He played in five games as a receiver and returner during his rookie campaign in 2013. Williams played in 42 games at UCONN where he caught 43 passes for 588 yards and two touchdowns. He set a school record for career kickoff return yards (2,045) and ranks second in yards per return (25.9). Additionally, Williams is the only player in UConn history with at least two kickoff returns and two punt returns for touchdowns in a career.

Interestingly, Nick's roommate for two years was Byron Jones. Even back then he used to say Byron had a real shot at being a future first round NFL draft pick. Byron's freakish athletic talent was a known factor to many on the team.
