In 1981 at the field house we played Villanova and lost I believe in double overtime. Tom Sinkowitz(sp) for Villanova was unbelievable that game, making big shot after big shot. But Norman Bailey stole a ball just inside mid court, rushed to the hoop and double pumped a jam over a Villanova player. Best jam I ever saw in person.

That was my first UConn game, will never forget, can name exactly where I was sitting and the reaction of the people around me.

Maybe I was one of them......I was behind the inbounds of Scotty Burrell over a section behind the Clemson band.......the place was electric as most UConn fans were in despair over losing a lead that seemed would never happen...then BOOM!! Hugging people I didn't know, kissing women I didn't know.....bedlam!!

I was in the 2nd level with my dad and we were in the front row next to the railing in his company seats. I was 15 and checking in at about 140 lbs and my dad was holding onto me and the rail because the section was shaking so bad after the shot. Was absolutely insane, thank god I had my Reebok Pumps extra pumped or I could have been injured.

How bout this one -- 1999 Big East tournament championship game. Already up 9-0. St. John's on the ropes. Rip gets the rebound, out to Ricky, to El-Amin, to Freeman on the alley-oop.
Ball never hit the floor.

Tate

Rashad hit some HUGE shots in 2006 to keep us in the tourney.

1) hiring Jimmy in 1986
2) Special K's free throws vs Dook in 99 (were you ever happier?)
3) the shot leading us to our first e8
4) KW vs Pitt is MSG (hard to remember that was a quarterfinal game)
5) Ray vs GTown BET championship capping an amazing comeback
6) Rashad's 3 vs Dook in 04 starting an amazing comeback

timing is everything, when getting beat or losing, them there games usually just don't stand out for me

I'm like watching Yankee Classics, we never lose. 500-0 baby

One of my all time favorite plays was the dunk by Lyman Depriest in the NIT tournament. I believe against Ohio State. This was the beginning of good things for the Uconn program. Lyman also was known as a defensive specialist. I was at the game Senior year college. Going crazy.

Is it strange that I was five when that happened, don't remember watching the game, and still get teary-eyed when I watch that clip?

Against Cal, second round of the tourney 1990. Steal under our basket, 3 passes, slam by Burrell. I think there was only 1 dribble.

There were absolutely NO dribbles - the ball never touched the floor - just all five Huskies.

As for the balance - Loved Scotty's jump of Wake's Rogers - but Tate's shot is the be all, end all

I have to put KEA's shot at Pitt in any top shot group. The one where he jumped up on the scorer's table afterward to taunt the Pitt students after their BS all game long.
