The buzz on Maya was about her GPA, faith, and work ethic. The buzz on Skylar is about her attractiveness and popularity. I'll take the substance over the style any day.
I guess I'm old school. Actually, I'm a very visual person. Maya's acrobatic moves were better than anything else I've seen--before or since.
Im more or less talking about looks... cause they can be seen on TV, and of course that what ESPN likes. Skylar's team will draw better ratings (and casual fans) than any other team in the WCBB right now... and I know why. we know Maya had both but now she's gone soooooo we're left with the Darling from Notre Dame for now
Actually, I find myself hoping Niele Ivey could come back. Then again, seeing her on the bench works for me just fine.

Depends. If ND had lost to UConn the last two games, no, that wouldn't make her a diva. Lots of folks with short memories about Diana. We loved her antics; rivals hated them.
http://www.usabasketball.com/bios/diggins_skylar.html Skylar is now a student at arguably the best undergraduate business school in America. Clearly, this doesn't compare to Maya and her individualized major.
And Parker was hardly an academic slouch either. I saw an interview where Parker said that she switched out of her communications major because she was doing so many interviews anyway (through basketball) that she thought a different major would be more productive. When it comes to Uconn Huskies and academics it's Heather Buck who I think is impressive. And before her, Cassie Kerns.
