I hope Hobbs gets the job but I am thinking Anthony Johnson is their man here.

I wish Carl the best. Just a tough time, in the middle of the recruiting season, to lose a coach who has likely developed relationships with recruits. I guess there is no good time to lose a coach. Bottom like, if he wants the job, I hope he gets it. He's served our program proudly and deserves the best career opportunities he can get.

Honestly his stock is high right now. Can't respect him any higher how he responded via actions, when Ollie was promoted over him. Not saying he was qualified or the best candidate, but it still must have been tough. BUT he stayed (and never said a bad word) and helped Ollie transition to coaching, he was loyal to our program and helped us win another championship.

What else is left for him to do here? I also hope he gets more than a look but a 2nd chance at head coaching. We will suffer but for the right reasons. Of course if he stays we win. Therefore a win/win situation for us and him.

If hired, would be quite the sight to see Hobbs on the opposite bench down in PR.. I imagine he was integral in shepherding Kromah to us last year, and Lasan's contributions were crucial at various points in the title-winning season. Good luck Karl, and it might be a good idea not to verbally assault your players

It's probably a decent gig and there are worse places to live than Charleston.

The lifestyle is very nice there. But the expectations may be a little out of line with who they are. You can win there, it's hard to win consistently at a high level there.

Ollie wasn't promoted over him. Hobbs was never an option and he wasn't even a recruiting assistant when Ollie got the nod.

I didn't know he wasn't even an option (outside of Calhoun), but still its admirable that he did not become disgruntled and such. Especially when not even considered. He's a better man than many, as he was qualified for a 'courtesy' interview or look.

I just loved how he showed dedication to his University and loyalty to Ollie throughout the process. He's a class act all the way.

He deserves the best.

Good for Hobbsy. He started off strong at GW. It would be nice for him to get another HC gig.

If Hobbs does leave, would be interesting to see if we hire a coach outside the UConn family.

A big problem for him and the reason he was less productive @GW is because there was a new president who have less money to the athletic dept. This really hurt his recruiting, since he has gone there has been a new AD and an increase in funding.

If Hobbs does go, I'd hope they'd throw some cash at a serious recruiter - that's the chink in the armor right now.

I'm a little torn between an in-family hire and a stud recruiter if Hobbs goes. It is very possible we land a class like Adams, Enoch, Stone and Jones with Ollie as our stud recruiter but who knows. It would be nice having a guy on the staff who knows every AAU coach or someone like that guy Matt Abdelsdfjds who I think was linked to Ollie some time back.

IF he leaves I want a stud recruiter. We will still have multiple assistants from the family. If Ollie has a stud recruiter it will be very hard to stop him.

I trust Ollie and co. will make the best decision if Hobbs does leave. Who is considered the "stud" recruiting on our staff now?

I can't see Scott doing anything in life without being extremely successful.

I agree. Plus he brings an impressive résumé . Think about it---- between KO and Burrell you can be coached by former team mates of Jordan , Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc , LeBron, Durrant, Iverson, Ray Allen , etc.
