Did their fiasco with the governor teach them nothing?

I think you should complain to the CT state police, and "cc" the Jersey police, and both governors. For all CT's incredibly moronic, bloated bureaucracy infuriates me (having spent 15 years as a small businessman in the state), I have found that they are very good at responding to letters.

You could, of course, wait for Governor Christie to hold a Town Hall meeting in Connecticut, then hit him with a question about his NJ state police. Be sure the cameras are rolling when he replies.

Congrats Nan on your victory! You won!

IMO you should still consider calling State Police.

The way the Rutgers coach and NJ Staties sprinted off the field, looks like they were in a hurry to start that caravan procession back to Jersey.

What a satisfying win :D

And I agree....a letter to the NJ governor and head of the NJ State Police is warranted.

-Thanks for posting this.
-How did you identify the unmarked car, using its blue lights, as NJ State Police? Did it have NJ municipal licence plates, or was it another kind of marking?

It was part of the caravan of buses and marked NJ state trooper cars and it had NJ plates.

I thought this was just an excellent post, PB. I believe you, and Nan’s husband, were right in thinking straightaway that the Connecticut State Police are the starting point for the best POC regarding complaints on any convoys run in Connecticut.

Reminded me of this 2008 article, suggesting Rutgers convoys, including all their NJ State Police car escorts, are not led by NJ State Police once they enter another state – convoy leadership being turned over to the local State Police authority.

I’ve never trained with NJ or CT State Police, but I imagine the CT State Police would readily know if the convoy commander and any instructions for escort drivers (e.g., re controlling entry into the convoy) may be controlled/approved/monitored by the CT State Police, for all agencies' participants in that leg of the trip.

It’s been an interesting thread on both boards, reading about possible alternative courses of action (Personally, I won't be subscribing to the 'Ignore the blue light - he may not have jurisdiction' advice). I only hope I’d have the presence of mind both you guys did to immediately think of CT State Police as the right place to start if I think I have a serious complaint, that doesn't warrant counsel.

Thax,
Arty

PS: As for resolving the matter at hand: Yes, certainly the Huskies’ victory is tantamount to trail-by-combat; The Wrath of Karma has clearly validated all the righteous indignation, and shame heaped upon these wretched invaders.:)
