    with Carmelo back.

He is a me first player. Denver did better with him gone.

Ignoring your true intent and your obsession with ramshackle cities in central New York, I think the Knicks have the opportunity to make something of this season.

Anthony can be a grade A ballstopper, but I think (hope) that he's more concerned about W's than his own stats. If I'm right, this could work out very, very nicely.

If I'm wrong, and this goes south, Carmelo Anthony on a losing team is just a recipe for disaster.

He looked pretty willing to share last night. The problem last night was having Shumpert out. He is their best perimeter defender by far.

Maybe he just hates the color orange.

Bill, what are your thoughts on cheddar cheese and safety cones?

    Too ba
Too bad he's never been part of a winning team. He won an NCAA championship? He won a gold medal? He took a very ordinary group of Nuggets to a conference finals?

Knicks may or may not keep playing well, but to act like Carmelo has had no success winning basketball games is a strange position.

I think the knicks are loaded but are going to need time for it to come together and learn how to play to their strengths. i think theyll play well the rest of the year but i dont expect much if they make the playoffs but with all the pieces they have coming back next year if they get on the same page look out in the east because theyll be a force to be reckoned with. i reckon;)

The Knick go nowhere without Melo. I think he will fit right in once he shakes the rust off. I am more concerned with Amare. He doesn't seem as explosive as in past years. Anyways I haven't been this excited about a Knicks team Lin a long time.

I heard that the Knicks wanted to change his name on the back of his uni to Linthony. Did anyone else hear this?

Why do people keep going with this myth that Denver is better w/o him? They got knocked out in 5 games, granted Melo only got past the 1st round once the year they went to the WCF, but they didn't go any further than where Melo got him. Now this year they're the 8th seed. Karl can push the whole "we don't need stars, we have a bunch of good players" agenda all he wants, they're not going anywhere in the playoffs with that group.

I'm not going to call Melo selfish, because he does care about winning. However, his style of play lends itself to that rap, fairly or unfairly. How many times do you see him grab the ball in the corner, take five seconds, and then make his move as the shotclock is winding down? Again, he's not trying to be selfish in these instances, but as a teammate, you know the shot is going up as soon as Melo gets the ball.

This isn't to say that he can't make it work in New York, but at least to this point in his career, he hasn't won nearly as much as you would expect a player of his caliber to win. He hasn't had great teammates, but I think his teammates have been good enough that he should have been past the first round more than once by this point in his career.

If the Knicks can make this work, they are right there in the East after the Bulls and the Heat. They've got their defensive anchor inside in Chandler, a big who can score in a variety of ways in Chandler, one of the best scorers in the game in Melo, shooters in JR Smith and Fields, a defensive stopper in Shumpert, and now a couple of guys to run the show in Lin and Davis.

It's all going to depend on how quickly the pieces come into place. They've got the talent to beat anybody.
