27 first down plays 3 passes and 24 running plays. All McCombs, all up the middle. They literally were giving up a down every single set. Lyle had a few, and of the 3!!!!! pass plays ran, two of them went for 18 yards!!!!! I never played football and really only have been paying close attention for 10 years or so, but c'mon man!

Upon further review, that's a looks a little better to me. 13 first down plays went for at least 3 yards. No creativity but not awful production.

Clearly you have been drinking too much of whatever is in that red cup.

That will not be the case against any team we face for the rest of the year.

Defensive coordinators need only remember 1st Down, Lyle McCombs run, 2nd and long. Easy week of prep for them. Some even take vacation the week of the UConn game.

What is the definition of insanity again?

That is unacceptable. While I think, it may be unfair for people to be calling for P's head already (we've been in just about every game he has coached) if he does nothing about Deleone, and lets him go into next year as the offensive coordinator, he will be driving the nail into his own coffin. That type of play calling in 2012, is unacceptable. The rules in football have been tailored toward the wide open fast paced game.

Just the fact you try pound the ball up the gut repeatedly with a 160lb running back is cause for concern. How about when you line that same 160lb back as the up back on a toss play, forget that one of those plays went for a touch, the things this offense is trying to do don't make sense. The game has passed Deleone by.

I just pointed out the relative success of the hated 1st down run up the middle. Not sure why that's an indication I've been drinking. I'm not saying I like it, just providing imperical evidence that it wasn't as bad (today) as some are suggesting. Facts are facts.

Mccombs ran 27 times for 97 yards... that's 3.0 UPC against UBuffalo.

Sigh. I just keep telling myself its not his fault he's so misused. Frustrating..

If you want that run up the middle to pick up some real yardage, you can't call it every first down. Buffalo had 8-9 guys in the box every first down. They weren't even defending the pass. Deleone has to call some pass plays to get those safeties off the LOS.

People in my section complained about this even when it worked with Todman and Brown.
