Personally, I still think the conference is a huge impediment to recruiting, which makes this commitment all the more impressive.

Amazing to think back that not too long ago a pretty big portion of this board was totally convinced that Ollie couldn't recruit with the big boys. Now we've got Diarra, Larrier, Gilbert, and hopefully one or two more big pieces coming in next year alone.

Winning recruiting battles against major [teams against which we have often competed, with some animosity] always feels good, whether or not Gilbert was anyone else's top priority. He's going to be a big-time player for us.

I agree. Thank God we have KO at the helm. Notice that his first words were about his relationship with KO. I've said all along that this would need to be a huge factor with the recruit to overcome the conference thing, and it was.
