Geno Had An Afro??

Griffin said she's always respected Auriemma's coaching, but that's not what she remembers most about his days in Philadelphia.
"Geno had some crazy hair," she said. "You know he had that Afro. Geno had some big hair when he was young, and I have my sister's yearbook to prove that."

And ouch, this means really bad things for UConn tonight, since Geno was an assistant for St. Joe's in 1978 and 1979, pretty much when that 'fro was probably 'froing. You know the Hawks fans are going to be waving big pics of Geno from the school's archives whenever the Huskies are taking a FT or trying to line up a 3.

What was he thinking back then? Any snafus in this game are strictly on him.

Not me. I don't want my kids to see my college grad pix, but I'd say the shoulder-length locks and caterpillar 'stache are the issues.

But I guess James Caan's Sonny in The Godfather kind of did capture the look of the times.
