Effie's on Park RD in nearby W. Hfd is the answer. Full breakfast menu, nice home fries and excellent service. Look for the numbered breakfast items as they include coffee or other. They are not inexpensive but do offer a solid breakfast and OK parking.

I agree but in fairness he didn't really give enough information. He just said he's coming up for the game. He didn't say where the client works. If he said the guy worked in downtown Hartford so he was looking for something close to there it would have helped. Or maybe not and people still would have given him places far away. At least people didn't start giving him dinner places. :)
What is the title of the thread?

BY police are out... I for one appreciate the suggestions in towns adjacent to Hartford. This board is great for local culinary advice

My suggestion in Rocky Hill is 15 minutes door to door

I think it's more important to have a good meal and maybe bring something a little different / special to the table, but that's just me

OP prefaced his request as "coming up to Hartford.". That implies he's coming from the south. Hartford is small enough that the suburbs can be considered.

So you are saying New Haven is still in play?

But, most importantly, where is the client coming from and what sort of breakfast do they enjoy most?

Moe's is very good. They make this apple walnut pancake which is terrific.

Sadly not only did my guy select Dunkin’ Donuts like a true new Englander would, this thread, after 25 years or so in the yard, has been my longest.

Mo's Midtown is definitely the spot to be. Allegro Cafe on Franklin Ave. is another good one.
It's still in business? It's been years for me. I'm going to have to stop by.
