Me too.

But I would like to think UConn at MSG gives MSU fans nightmares because, well, it should.

Reminds me a lot of when we went up against Derrick Williams of Arizona in the 2011 E8

13-14 Payne - 16.6 points, 7.3 boards, 1.2 assists, 0.9 blocks, 0.4 steals, 78% FT, 43.8% 3pt, 51.5% FG

10-11 Williams - 19.5 points, 8.3 boards, 1.1 assists, 0.7 blocks, 1.0 steals, 74.6% FT, 56.8% 3pt, 59.5% FG

We were able to get 3 1st half fouls on Williams, wouldn't hurt to do the same to Payne.

He's not going to play well against a stifling UConn defense. How do I know this? He doesn't make good decisions, just look at his hair. Just go bald dude if you think nobody notices, we DO.

Never heard of him

Easily understood, it being that he was a non-factor in our game with them last year.... he played 15 minutes in that game and had three fouls... our guards are going to eat this dude alive.

If we survived Hauge (sp) we can survive him. I can't imagine anyone playing better against us here on out than that guy.

What a player!

We forgot to guard Hogue (sp?) but better find Payne…….key to Payne if he's making shots form the perimeter then he becomes a major Pain!

Payne had over 40 in the first round game.

What will make him tough is that the kid has interior moves, can rebound, and can shoot the 3. He's like a poor man's Kevin Love without the good passing ability. When we put Brimah on him, Payne can pull Brimah away from the basket.

It's going to be tough. Both teams have come a long way from the first game of the 2012-2013 season.

Exactly.

I would think part of KO and staffs game plan is to go at him early and try to have him pick up a couple fouls.

I don't know what's wrong with Tyler but I think we're going to need an extra big man this game.

Very tough game, MSU is a better version of ISU and with the small lineup we gave up uncontested layups or a gillion offensive boards and easy putbacks.

If MSU shoots a good %, 35 or more from 3, I don't see a way to win, if they struggle and get into any foul trouble we can be in this game until late and have a chance to pull it out.

Bottom line our Huskies NEED to rebound the basketball in this one……2nd and 3rd chances will render us in foul trouble and Dawson scoring a lot not he weak side.

Yes. It will be interesting to see how they start out. Even if they start with Nolan he won't play more than 5-6 mins unless lots of foul trouble. Not to 2nd guess anything, but I will anyway, why didn't KO give all of Nolan's mins to Facey?

Nolan is terrible, a more experienced Facey at this point in the season could be a better option.

We got out-rebounded by 13 last year in Germany. We just gotta make defensive stops and run a good offense. Appling is not 100%, we should press the living out of them and force their bigs to make decisions.

When's the last time Facey has played significant minutes? If Ollie threw him in there now, kid would get run over. Can't play him now.

Nolan is bigger and probably plays better D. He's a 5 foul guy, but serviceable enough.

Yeah. I just don't think Nolan is nearly as bad as people say. He's a solid back up center, who happens to start to make sure the guy who gets starters minutes doesn't get into quick foul trouble.

That's the point. Facey can't contribute tommorrow, I'm saying we would be in a better position right now if Facey got Nolan's minutes all season.

It really is irrelevant at this point. Maybe Nolan can give us a solid 10-12 minutes tomm.
