“It’s a different time and a different era,” Auriemma said. “It’s a little more competitive now and there are a lot more good teams than there were. Back then there were more great teams. Now there are more really, really good teams. You also play a lot more games.”

A win over Stanford would put Auriemma into the top spot at .86883.

“Just win seven out of every eight for the rest of my career? Right,” Auriemma said as he burst out laughing. “It’s kind of ridiculous when you think about it. Leon’s not losing anymore games."

Of comparable significance, Geno is approaching 900+ wins in 30 seasons. Most coaches are ecstatic when they win 25 in any season and become delirious to hit 30, even once.

Geno has now averaged 30+ victories per season over a 30-year span.

Never been done. Never will.

Put Geno in the books with Cy Young.

So Kim Mulkey can pass Barmore if Baylor wins their next 165 games. That's downright Tonyesque! :)
