Dez just tweeted that UConn received over 30,000 applications for 3,000 slots for the Class of 2016. Pretty impressive.
I would imagine that the cost of a public school (compared to a private school) would make one more attractive now.
I know about this all too well. I am huge uconn basketball and football fan. CT kid myself, but elected for Quinnipiac because it's smaller size and location. In hindsight I wouldn't have minded saving a lot of money by going to Uconn, but wouldn't exchange it for the 4 year experience I have had. That is an impressive statistic.
I went to UConn in the early-mid 90s. Only school I applied to. Zero regrets going there. It was a total blast. Only problem was I partied too much.
Pretty close. I believe right around 48k. Only looked at my student loan numbers a couple of times and they are high enough already going into my last semester to make one lose sleep at night. Terrifying.
My youngest daughter graduates from Fairfield this May. Nearly $50,000 a year. Enrollment at Fairfeld was down nearly 200 students this past academic year.
Anything to help me pay them off sooner rather than later I would be happy with. Luckily my parents have agreed to go 50/50 with me.
I went to Xavier. Pretty similar situation but I graduated in 08' and I think the cost was right around 8k - 10k.
These numbers are just what Susan Herbst was hoping for. Now she can be even more selective with SAT and GPA scores to further enhance UConn's standing.
