Who's gonna be our Giff… Rashad.. 3 pt assassin next year? Really need Omar to come back strong and hit all those open looks he's gonna see with Boat, Purvis driving & dishing.

Daniel Hamilton. I think he'll have a Rashad-type mentality when it comes to shooting the 3.

Boat shot 38% last year, as did Purvis when he was a freshman. DHam has a pure stroke and a rep as a shooter. And DD, of course, was money from beyond the arc last season. If he comes back we should be able to spread the floor with those four guys.

The issue will be our bench brigade. Samuel doesn't have 3-point range yet, and even at his best Omar was inefficient from 3. Cassell should be able to hit a few, but his rep is more of a scorer and playmaker than a shooter.

It would be great if Facey came back with a jumper.

I didn't know he was a shooter like that. Thought more inside / post game. We really need Omar's shot back.

OC game is more like that. But I suspect there will be a lot of drive and kickout with DD, OC, Sam, and Dham able to knock down the 3.

Tolksdorf is going to be more of a contributor next year than people realize. Assuming Daniels does not return, he is going to see time at the four.

I agree, he may very well play an important role next year.
He has international experience as a starter on the German age-group team last summer and he is a natural shooter. With sufficient playing time, he could certainly put up near Giffey numbers from three. But we have a lot of depth on paper, so he will have to earn the time.

In one of those midseason blowouts Facey got a lot of blow and hit a 3. Could be something to watch.

Don't see him ever being a major contributor but stranger things have happened.

All it takes is one elite skill to contribute at this level, assuming you're competent in other facets. I don't know if Tolk is competent defensively, but if Brimah develops into the dominant defensive force we all believe he can be, that gives us some flexibility at the four in terms of being able to hide sub-par defenders. Plus, with Samuel and Purvis likely playing a lot of minutes together next season - two drive-first players with progressing jump shots - we could find ourselves pinched for floor spacing at times.

Of course, you're the guy, IIRC, who described Giff as "nothing more than a spot up shooter" around the 1/2 way mark of this past season, so your undervaluation of Germans is now legend.

Not getting into that other guy's talent evaluation, but there is an enormous difference between Giffey and Tolksdorf.

Giffey got significant minutes as a freshman and sophomore, and saw an uptick in minutes his junior and especially senior year.

Tolksdorf hasn't gotten meaningful minutes in 2 years. It's doubtful he's all of a sudden going to be able to compete at a high-DI level.

Wolf was at a position of need, and he got a few minutes in BE play in 2012 IIRC. And center is a lot more forgiving position to come in and play with minimal skill/experience.
