New school commitments by Transfers - March 2024

Most likely. I believe Lazaria Spearman was visiting this weekend too. And there have been two Skim Milkey posts about the Lady Vols. Might be early in her visit for Lazaria, but worth keeping an eye on.

New school commitments by Transfers - March 2024

Welcome. I will say, UConn players did flock to follow Beers as soon as she entered the portal but she has not returned the favor to any of them by following back. That doesn’t necessarily mean anything either way, but I do think it’s interesting.

Committed to Cinci. A huge commitment for that school and coach.

    Non-UConn recruiting thread

I was being sarcastic. Sorry. I forgot to add my "haha" because Illinois, as you said isn't far but I do think she has a good relationship with Green from her time at Dayton, as she seems to be a good recruiter for Ohio.

    Non-UConn recruiting thread

You're not being fair, I'm sure Dayton would be in this final three if Shauna Green was still there and not 3.5 hours away in Illinois. So, she did expand her range. But also, I think joining Cincinnati would still allow for her to experience the "jet age" going to all the Big 12 schools. But...

    Non-UConn recruiting thread

Dee Alexander (6'1" Guard out of Cincinnati, two time Ohio Player of the Year and top 10 recruit in the class of 2025) has narrowed her previous list of 15 down to three. Cincinnati, Illinois, and Ohio State.

I think this is the suspected starting lineup for OSU, not Kentucky.

New school commitments by Transfers - March 2024

Someone who is more read up on the situations can correct me, but I don't think schools and players can have contact until they are in the transfer portal. Also "Do Not Contact" does not necessarily mean they know their next destination. It could just mean they don't want to experience high...

New school commitments by Transfers - March 2024

VanSlooten is from Ohio but I'd be shocked if she went to Ohio State. She's never really shown interest in being at OSU. I think she'd prefer to be far from Ohio. Maybe end up at Baylor, Colorado, big swing for U of Miami if she had a good relationship with Tricia Cullop growing up.

Probably will get its own thread but Tara steps down, Kate Paye will take over https://x.com/stanfordwbb/status/1777888075416588313?s=46&t=B1WHygbk_oQhce79VmfFSQ

I believe they are quoting Whoopi Goldberg in "Ghost".

Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

Yes and no. Was hopeful she'd return but she did participate in Senior Day, as a fifth year student and I believe she has her degree [possibly in grad school too but can't remember where I heard that.]

Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

She will be a graduate. She’s one of those players who left high school early during the early COVID times when the high school seasons were in question.

Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

I think just three. Faith Masonius Summer Bostock Riley Nelson I think the only alarming transfer out is Riley Nelson, I'm pretty sure she's from Maryland and had been committed to them since 2021. So, I don't know if her recruiting really got hot.

    Non-UConn recruiting thread

I wouldn't be super surprised if Maryland or VT were in the picture as well. [Not because of the Orange haha].

Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

I believe Weimar was a transfer in from Marist and her first season was the first season that Moseley at Wisconsin. So, unsure of the specific timelines on where they'd overlap but I guess I'd assume Moseley was already for Wisconsin when Weimar came calling.

Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

I thought she was out because of a medical issue? I know we have a poster who is a Rutgers fan, but they may be avoiding this page.... I do regret to say I don't really keep up with Rutger's much, except in the Big Ten Tournament when Destiny Adams had a day. Okay, I saw she won...

Taliah Scott has announced she is entering the Portal out of Arkansas. Maddie Scherr out of Kentucky too. *edited to correct spelling of Scherr's last name.

    Let the Carousel begin!

https://x.com/goodmansport/status/1767560873986428951?s=20 Tweet wasn't previewing, so for those that can't see, Amanda Butler and Clemson have parted ways. Not a super surprising decision considering her results, but the five year extension in 2022 and the incoming five-star recruit, kind of...

    Let the Carousel begin!

Well, Utah State's AD has fired their Coach [Kayla Ard] between the end of their game [loss in the first round of the Mountain West] and the beginning of the postgame media availability. Not sure I've seen that before.

Week 18 - March 4 to 11 (conf standings, NET, conf tourney games)

She made All Freshmen [an eight person team] last year but no TAMU player received and SEC accolades this season. Edit: She was a preseason First Teamer this season, not that that really means anything.

Week 18 - March 4 to 11 (conf standings, NET, conf tourney games)

I'll be interested to see if she does only stay in school for three seasons. That was her plan but with injury and a lack of team success, I'm not sure she's really had a chance to wow scouts outside of her potential.

Big Ten Conference Season Tip -off. Who's #1?

I haven't seen it widely reported but Eboni Walker has not been with the OSU team since Senior night against Michigan. Which, we noticed she wasn't even on the bench at some point during the 4 Quarter of that game and we haven't seen her with the team since. McGuff was asked about it around the...

Week 18 - March 4 to 11 (conf standings, NET, conf tourney games)

I was going to reply with thoughts but like....yeah, I mean, not much more to say. So many questions, never any answers. I'm curious about what type of team is coming to the Big Ten next year.

Week 18 - March 4 to 11 (conf standings, NET, conf tourney games)

Oh wow, 13 minutes since you posted this and the score is now 9–36. Will Oregon make it to double figures before halftime?? 34 seconds left. Follow-up Edit: Whelp, with 5 seconds left Chance Gray made a layup. 11-39.

Big Ten Conference Season Tip -off. Who's #1?

Did anyone get a chance to watch Indiana? I saw an article saying Mackenzie Holmes and Lily Meister both had injuries in the game? “I’m going to be optimistic” - Moren was quoted.

I wondered if there was concussion protocol with the broke nose but hadn’t seen anything official on that front. Long term health always more important.

https://x.com/billoram/status/1763383988012609974?s=46&t=B1WHygbk_oQhce79VmfFSQ Big bummer. Tweet isn’t populating but it says Reagan Beers is in street clothes at the game. So likely unavailable against Stanford.

Week 17 - Feb 26 to Mar 4 (games, conf standings, NET)

Not sure if you saw, but Alissa Pili was a guest on Haley Jones podcast episode that dropped today. Jones asked Pili some rapid fire questions, like “toughest player to guard” “Reagan Beers” or “game winning shot or game winning block” but also asked “Who is the biggest flopper” and Pili said...

    Top 16 reveal (Feb. 29)

So, according to the committee, just looking at the last two weeks, a win over Texas and a loss to West Virginia is more impressive than wins over Colorado and USC and losing to UCLA (which was a route). And Utah, over the season, has beaten USC twice, UCLA (with Betts), lost to Stanford by 2...

Coaches to watch in 2023-24; Hotseat edition

Ionescu, Hebard, McGwire, Morgan Yaeger, and Sierra Campisano were all part of the same class. Ionescu and Hebard were the only two to play all four years at Oregon. All recruits were ESPN Top 100. Campisano at one time was top 15. I believe Mcgwire went to Boise, Campisano went to a smaller...

Big Ten Conference Season Tip -off. Who's #1?

They didn't explicitly say what, but she was out with a foot injury [wore a boot for a bit] that happened during a practice. She wasn't playing when I tuned into the game yesterday but I saw her face was red, so I'm sure she worked hard and was just on minutes limit.
